Dutch KDE-PIM Event 2005

The KDE project is a global Open Source project that develops one of the premier Desktop Environments for Open Source operating systems; the KDE desktop is used by some of the leading Linux distributions such as SuSE and Mandrake. KDE is developed by over 600 developers from all walks of life who contribute their time and energy, usually unpaid, to the project.
KDE PIM is a subproject in KDE, which develops the award-winning KMail and Kontact applications for managing Personal Information (names, addresses, email, notes, instant messaging and more) in all its forms. KDE PIM supports many groupware servers and mobile devices, providing a complete solution for managing users' day-to-day Personal Information needs.
Unfortunately, PIM is never done. There are always new features to add, new third-party products to support, new groupware servers to integrate, and the occasional bug to squash. This means continuing developer effort is needed. For the past three years, KDE PIM has held meetings in Osnabrück every January, where the developers of KDE PIM get together at the offices of Intevation GMBH to spend one concentrated weekend of effort in improving KDE PIM -- programming, bugfixing and communicating effectively as only a face-to-face meeting can provide.
This year, the KDE-NL organization would like to ramp up productivity by scheduling an additional meeting, in the Netherlands, in May. This additional meeting provides a way to evaluate the effects of the Osnabrück meeting, evaluate the latest KDE 3.4 version, and plan KDE PIM efforts leading up to the KDE 4.0 release.
The meeting is scheduled for the last weekend in May, the 27th to the 29th. It is preceded by the Dutch National Unix Users Group (NLUUG) annual conference, with Email and Groupware as topic; several of the KDE PIM developers will be speaking there.
